"This is an unusual situation. I've been in government for 25 years. I've never seen anything like this," Reedley City Manager Nicole Zieba said, per local news outlet KRON4.
The makeshift lab contained roughly 30 refrigerators and freezers — some of which were non-operational — as well as incubators, medical testing supplies, and hundreds of mice. Several disease samples tested from the lab included infectious agents like herpes, coronavirus, E. Coli, and malaria, SFist reported.
In sum, despite knowing for decades that in view of America’s policy of strategic ambiguity (read: when push comes to shove, you’re on your own) it must be self-sufficient, Taiwan has failed to defend adequately against an obvious and overwhelming threat. In choosing not to harden itself and not sufficiently to deter, it has been unforgivingly remiss, irresponsible, and self-destructive.

A supposedly great nation electing a leader like Biden is like Britain electing "Peace in our time" Neville Chamberlain in the face of an increasingly dominant NAZI Germany.
Why not content ourselves with the remains of the day? Why not accept a dark but gentle decline, like Britain’s, as something that can be borne as other nations rise to dominate? Especially given the nature of these nations’ totalitarian and often barbaric political systems and behaviors, a crucial difference, perhaps not sufficiently noted, is that throughout its travails and decline Britain had the U.S. to shield it—from Germany, Germany once again, and the Soviet Union.
We have no such protector, and should we continue on our neglectful course, as hard as it may be to imagine in this “weak piping time of peace,” our denouement will be violent and tragic. It has already begun, as we collapse internally, partially in response to external forces that we have the wit neither to credit nor even to comprehend.
To the extent Biden was actually "elected", or more likely installed, by the dominant Democrat / Administrative State / Big Business / Big Media oligarchy , we can assume that the elite are fine with their connections with the PRC leadership, and assume that they will continue in luxury while the "deplorables" in the US are forced to accept PRC masters as opposed to the current Oligarchy.

For SOME??? Reason, we are still funding "Gain Of Function Research", the kind of reasearch that nearly certainly gave us Covid19.
At the heart of such research lies an idea that can be difficult to understand: danger is not an incidental byproduct of the research; it is central to it. “The nature of this work is to start with a potential pandemic pathogen and enhance either its ability to transmit or its ability to cause disease,” says Richard Ebright, a molecular biologist at Rutgers who has been a vocal opponent of gain-of-function research. “These are pathogens that are not present in nature, not circulating in nature, not circulating in humans or in livestock, in crops or even in the wild. These are pathogens that might not come to exist in years, decades, centuries or millennia, but which are brought into existence through laboratory manipulation.”
This notion — creating viruses that can cause a pandemic in order to study how they behave — is easy to miss because there is no scientific equivalent, even in weapons research. Ebright, also a member of Biosafety Now, characterizes this laboratory risk as “existential, extinction-level risk.”
And much of it is, of course, funded by taxpayer dollars; even today, there is still almost no congressional oversight into what kind of virological experimentation is being done, or how it’s funded.
So we are funding, allowing research to continue even in populated areas, and the crazy train is still running! At least there are some probably useless attempts to stop it.

And Florida senator Marco Rubio last year called for Harvard to clarify its involvement with Fauci and the Chinese real estate firm Evergrande (in response to my reporting for The Spectator).
One of our Iowa senators has at least attempted to keep us from paying for "existential, extinction level risk". Thanks Joni! If there are two choices for human extinction in the next 100 years; 1. Climate Change 2. Release of a "global" killer enhanced virus, I think #2 is an easy bet.

What’s clear is that the public is awakening to the gain-of-function arms race — some military, some private, some scientific. It covers a lot of facts about the strange response to Covid, the main one in my mind is "Why doesn't anyone seem to be curious about how Covid got started"? (in fact they want desperately to close the case that it was not). The circumstantial evidence is very damning ... viral gain of function research was being done in Wuhan, Fauci was funding it, we know there was a conference call on which Fauci and a set of virologists were very concerned about this being a lab leak, and how they could "verify" that it was not. (they claimed they had found a "very similar" virus in a pangolin), however when guys like Ridley looked, it wasn't.
If you take the time to look at the early part of the video, you will learn about protein spikes and ACE2 receptors, and why it is so difficult (thanks be to God) for nature to produce a virus that does human to human transmission. Is it "possible" that it can happen randomly? Certainly, someone does win the lottery after all. Occam would be skeptical. In this case, the Wuhan lab was specifically inserting genetic code to allow the virus to be highly transmissible to humans.
This "Gain of Function" research was criticized as being likely to create the specific problem it was allegedly trying to prevent. An analogy used in the video is that it was like looking for a natural gas leak with a lighted match.
I've long been convinced that Covid was a lab "leak" at least, if not an intentional insertion into the environment. Remember that just prior to Covid, our economy was booming, energy prices were low, and Trump was looking like an absolute lock for re-election. Trump was a huge thorn in the side of the Administrative State, Chinese world dominance, exposing Democrat weaponization of the "Great Reset", open borders, and many other things. From the POV of the global elite, defeating him was an absolute requirement from day 1 of his administration, and failure was not an option.
Covid enabled the measures like massive mail in "voting" that averted what the woke viewed as an existential threat.

It's probably a Trump conspiracy that has hit the Calgary news. "Unknown" is now the leading cause of death in Alberta Canada.
The unknown causes of death category only began appearing on the list in 2019 — there is no record of it ranking before then, dating back to 2001.
The article helpfully goes on to say that it probably has "something" to do with Covid -- but apparently not the vaccine. (if it is "unknown" that seems an interesting conclusion). Covid came in 3rd, and it has always been interesting to see how "causal" Covid is as opposed to dying WITH Covid ... and heart disease, pneumonia, kidney disease, etc.

I'd vote for the last, because the first could be an undiagnosed concussion in childhood, undetected heart damage from a HOST of sources (infections, parasites, undetected valve issues, etc).
Even better, list that the person died of X, and WITH a set of contributing conditions. We definitely have the computing and data storage capacity to spot trends in underlying factors that seem irrelevant when you are looking at a cadaver.

Why would not every government in the world (other than China, and maybe the US) not be demanding to see the complete documentation of exactly what that lab was working on, which protein, why that protein, what steps were performed, what kind of "failures" happened during development (too lethal? Not transmissible enough? Not enough selectivity in lethality? Not certain enough mutations to insure long term effects? ) and what kind of "enhancement" were they seeking as a goal? It appears they may have "succeeded", but do we know? We can't because we don't know their goals, and nobody is curious about them.
Could the lack of investigation be because the Davos elite told them NO! In the last 30 years we have cut global poverty in half primarily through increased global trade and technical innovation. More of the wealth has been "distributed" (created) by those who DO THINGS ... like invent, increase efficiency, and allocate resources to the most productive uses.
"Universal health care" primarily benefits administrators .... which means more paperwork, less care, and more wealth for insurance companies, lawyers, and government.

Primary medicare and medicaid, along with the constant pressure of insurance companies to raise costs so their "cut" off the top is greater ... 6% of $1K is bigger than 6& of $500. Naturally it is nice of them to send you glossy brochures (that you are paying for) telling how they are fighting to reduce costs (and thus their profits).
The main effect of "climate science" is to increase the cost of energy, thus hurting the lower income people, and moving more money to guys like Elon Musk who sells expensive cars with batteries that are more destructive to the environment than coal mining, and will wear out in "5 years" or so.
For all of 2020, the idea that Covid could be due to a "lab leak" was "fringe disinformation". As this NY Times article reports:

Naturally it would be certifiable crazy to consider the possibility that the "lab leak" was not an accident, right?
I know if my IBM taskmasters had me working on a project to enhance computer viruses to make them harder to detect, easier to spread, etc, I would NEVER suspect that they had any ulterior motives. Like maybe they had agreements with a few big anti-virus companies to release anti-virus software that was absolutely required to remove this enhanced virus? Certainly we trust big business, big pharma, big government to never do such a thing. Right?
Did we miss National Socialist Germany? The USSR? 9-11? Millions of babies murdered in their mother's womb? Is it unimaginable in such a world to trade off the deaths of a few million elderly people soon to die anyway for a vast increase in government control and massive profits for the Davos elite?

What I liked most about Malone is that he avoids saying "this is how it is" ... he says more than once that he may be wrong, he says a lot along the lines of "this seems to be what historical experience with AIDs and its various vaccines, as well as our current limited experience with Covid and the vaccines MAY be showing, He points out that a lot of people in the Covid narrative have vested interests -- there is a lot of money to be made by forcing everyone to take a number of "jabs".
Much like Obamacare, people are forced to "buy/obtain" a product -- and on top of all the mandates there is a ton of free advertising. I find the general Covid message to be "Give fear a chance". For some segments of the economy (big pharma, big retail (Amazon. WalMart, etc), financial entities that feed off the printing of money, etc) Covid has been a giant moneymaker.
It has certainly made a generally faceless bureaucrat (Fauci) into a household name -- people have done a lot just to be famous. This would not be the first time.

The proper answer is always no one. Humans are inherently flawed, often dishonest, even with themselves -- my position is that the more somebody stands up and says "I'm the expert, trust me!" ... the less I do, especially if their story changes regularly.
Think about eggs/cholesterol -- they were BAD, and the "Food Pyramid" put carbs as the base -- the good. It was "expert truth" for 40 years, then it was wrong.
For "some strange reason", there seems to be an awful lot of sickness going around this year -- the vast majority of it not Covid -- RSV, Flu, pneumonia, and even a concerning set of "weird things. Menstrual cycles becoming irregular or ceasing, a range of heart issues, fatigue, intermittent fevers ... strange stuff. Even some odd and rarely seen cancers.
Remember, AIDs stands for "Acquired Immune Deficiency". It killed your immune system and you died of a bunch of weird stuff. Think Kaposi's Sarcoma.

I've not been 100% since the jab in mid October. RSV ... formerly a disease of babies and elderly. Those with immune system problems. A persistent very bad cough and mucus ... multiple treatments, maybe successful this time ... seems pretty much like somehow I'm allergic, maybe asthmatic, though I never have been before. Seems to be a good number of sick folks filling up hospitals from non-Covid causes.

From the very start, the vast majority of hospitalizations and deaths were WITH Covid rather than BECAUSE of Covid. The narrative acknowledged that the "vast majority" of those hospitalized with, or dying with Covid did not reach that state because of Covid. They were old and in poor health due to multiple underlying conditions. The narrative required that whenever a younger person that was "apparently" in "perfect health" died with Covid, the word had to get out to maximum effect .
Given millions of cases there almost had to be some that died OF Covid -- I personally know of a healthy 50ish guy that died of anesthesia. Although most of us hardly think of it when we are put under, it does happen.
I personally don't know anyone that died even WITH Covid, although I accept that there are many. I also don't personally know anyone that was murdered -- though I know there are a lot. I DO unfortunately personally know of 10ish and probably more if I think of it that died in car accidents.
Even Biden has now declared that there is nothing the federal government can do to stop Covid ... "It's a virus, and we will have to live (and die) WITH it -- though likely not BECAUSE of it very often. "News at 11", those with some level of independent thought knew this from the start.
It would be great if everyone knew "... during a 2020 campaign debate, Biden proclaimed: “Anyone who is responsible for that many deaths should not remain as President of the United States of America.” At the time Biden proposed this disqualifier from holding the presidency, the U.S. had recorded 220,000 covid deaths, according to the Journal. Since inauguration day, it has recorded 350,000. And counting."
The narrative at that time required that anyone that died WITH Covid died BECAUSE of Covid ... because as Biden said, the critical thing was that Trump lost the election. The vaccine was made available on December 11 2020 .... there are some memos that indicate it would have been "disruptive" to release it as early as mid September 2020. We will never have any clue how many people were hospitalized and died because of Covid, because the narrative and the control of the oligarchy is what counts. What are the long term effects of the vaccine? Nobody has a clue. Approving this sort of new technology vaccine typically takes something like a decade. Do you want to trust the oligarchy to report massive negative effects of the vaccination if they are to occur? One thing is certain, if people do have negative effects from the vaccine, the companies creating it are immune from being sued.
You may not get any immunity from being jabbed and boosted, and you may even have long term side effects. however the vaccine companies have TOTAL immunity! Isn't that cozy?

Since we had it and recovered, we are living in sin, and apparently a lot of healthcare workers in Pennsylvania are as well, due to the heresy of a hospital chain.
A hospital chain in Pennsylvania announced a revised policy that seems like a reasonable recognition that certain employees who caught and fought off COVID-19 might not want to get vaccinated, and prefer to stick with natural immunity.
"Liberals" have always had "ideas so good they must be mandatory", since they are the "smart ones", and the "deplorable, bitter clingers" are just not not smart, moral, etc enough to follow "the word" from their betters.

COVID deaths are a little higher than they were last year at this time - of course you don't hear much about that.
If Trump was president (as he would be if the election was fairly held), it would be a "crisis of malfeasance"! As would Afghanistan in the unlikely case that the withdrawal went even half as badly as it has under Biden.
Last fall, both Biden and Kamala suggested any vaccine that rolled out under Trump would be highly suspect, and Kamala was clear that she would not take it (not that one can have ANY trust in what she or Joe says). Is it "better" that Kamala likely knows what she is saying?
The media called for Trump to be tested for Alzheimer's for pretty much his whole term, and then when he was and passes, they questioned its accuracy.

As a Covid "survivor" (I've "survived" other versions of flu over the years as well), it is gratifying to see evidence that natural immunity is better than vaccinated immunity. Seeing 60% infected after vaccination vs 0% after having it seems worth of reporting -- if course it won't be.

The great thing about COVID, I like to quip, is that has abolished death from old age. Also the flu. That malady typically claims 30,000 to 40,000 scalps per annum in the US, many more in a bad year. How many flu deaths were there last season? According to the Scientific American, 700.

In other words, flu is always around, nobody until Covid really tried to figure out how many deaths it "caused", because there was really no reason to. Old age, other underlying conditions, etc. were almost always involved (as they are with Covid). Old people die of SOMETHING, is it that important to identify the specific straw that "broke the camel's back"?

Like pretty much any flu vaccine, roughly 50% effectiveness is pretty good. I totally agree with pumping up the effectiveness numbers. ANYTHING to get us out of this crazy round of massive government overreach. Hey! Biden saved us all! Great. Whatever. My level of faith in anything from the government or media (but I repeat myself) is zero.
The tests are roughly 50% effective either way. So like everything in this Covid scare, we don't really "know" much of anything beyond a coin flip. As Fauxi as told us ... either masks are not effective, or they are. Flip a coin.
Much like the proud folks who have been double stuck, as a "survivor" of a virus with an over 99% survival rate in my age cohort, I want to think I'm protected, although the media medical complex wants to cast all the doubt they can. Delta variant? Breakthrough infection?. Did you REALLY have it? ... although both my wife and I tested positive and had the fever, lethargy, loss of taste symptoms. Did you not hear that a positive test is only like 50% accurate?

Dr Malone is looking at Ivermectin as a lower cost, better tested med for preventing/treating Covid. Naturally, if you google it, the NIH, CDC don't like it ... much like they originally said that Trump was xenophobic for restricting travel from Wuhan, and that masks were not effective against Covid.

Using ivermectin early in the clinical course may reduce numbers progressing to severe disease. The apparent safety and low cost suggest that ivermectin is likely to have a significant impact on the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic globally.
Dr Malone says:
Obviously, the RNA vaccines have gotten a lot of attention. They’re remarkable. The adenovirus vectored vaccines probably produce more protein over a longer period of time. They came out fairly early and were identified as associated with coagulation problems. Those coagulation problems are now being seen more with the RNA vaccines.
And there’s an odd spectrum of symptoms. The governments across the world have largely denied that there are any safety concerns with the RNA vaccines. Now, that’s not so tenable.

My wife and I had "short Covid" in December.
My wife came down with fairly long lasting cold in early June, I picked it up after, and still have a nagging, but clearing cough. We have not been vaccinated based on "watchful waiting", the usual medical advice for something with a 99%+ survival rate, especially if you have had it, that rate even being better. I've had long term sinus drip/nagging coughs nearly every year of my life since adolescence. Could this be a Covid re-infection? Certainly, however it has none of the original symptoms ... lethargy, loss of taste, etc.
Of course, if you listen to much of the media (which I don't, but I'm not Amish, nor from Havana), one of the reasons for "masks forever" is that even if you have had it and are vaccinated, you can be re-infected, and your symptoms may be reduced/different - so stay fearful!
Isn't that convenient if one of your major objectives is to maintain fear, allowing for increased power for government, CDC, etc.? And then there is the "delta variant".

The overarching message of the (too long) interview is that the Covid overreaction, plus the suppression of information calling that overreaction into question is reducing faith in public health and vaccinations in general.

Just finished Thomas Sowell's "Knowledge and Decisions" (review to come shortly). An important part of a society descending into bureaucratic tyranny is to maintain fear. Crisis followed by crisis - nuclear war, running out of petroleum, climate change, terrorism, etc, etc. "Never let a "crisis" go to waste".
Is there a basis for some level of concern on any/all of these? Certainly, however we need to all be aware of the global media, corporatist, bureaucratic "Great Reset".
